Welcome to the Toby's Foundation website! Thank you for your interest in Toby's Foundation and your concern about canine epilepsy. You will find here information about the disease and resources available to you. If you have an affected dog or a relative of one, we urge you to donate a blood sample to the University of Missouri for the research to find a gene marker that could lead to a screening test to identify carriers of this disease.

If you would like us to share your dog's story by running an ad in one of the breed magazines, please contact us. In order to sponsor an ad, we need an actual diagnosis of idiopathic epilepsy, meaning that no underlying cause for the seizures could be found. Please contact us for further information and please look at our other ads.

Our Aussie Album is a place where we share pictures of our precious Aussies with epilepsy, whether living or deceased. It serves as a tribute to these dogs and their families who courageously face this disease and stand with us in the fight against it. We think people should be able to see all of these wonderful dogs. Please email us a photo or send us one at our address if you would like your dog to be a part of the Aussie Album. Please include your dog's name, dates of birth and death, as applicable, and your name, address, phone number and/or email address for our records. Under each picture we put the dog's call name, dates, and state of residence. No pedigree information is necessary for the album. If your dog is deceased you may also include a few words, In Memoriam, for your beloved dog.

Please consider what you can do to help defeat canine epilepsy. Some suggestions are included on the page How Can I Help? We need everyone who loves these magnificent dogs to get involved and work together to stop canine epilepsy in its tracks. By giving blood for the research to find a gene marker a screening test may one day be developed to identify carriers and more effective treatment may also result.

Until the day we have a screening test, our greatest weapon in the fight against canine epilepsy is sharing information so breeders can make more informed breeding choices. Toby's Foundation brochure is downloadable and we ask that you please pass one along to share the information with others. Please also consider making a tax deductible contribution to Toby's Foundation to support our work to end epilepsy and reach out to all those affected by this cruel disease.

Thank you,

Pamela Douglas
