Greetings from Toby's Foundation,
Research Updates
Toby's Foundation is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring an important new research grant for dogs with drug resistant epilepsy. This new CHF grant is "Efficacy of Cannabidiol (CBD) for the Treatment of Canine Epilepsy" for Dr. Stephanie McGrath at Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The study will be a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial exploring the use of cannabidiol (CBD) to treat drug resistant epilepsy. CBD is a non-psychotropic part of Cannabis sativa plant.
Final reports for canine epilepsy grants that we co-sponsor for Drs. Hannes Lohi, Karen Munana, Gary Johnson, and Holger Andreas Volk are due soon and we will report on them. There has been a lot of progress made and a major breakthrough in canine epilepsy research by Dr. Hannes Lohi. Please visit our research page to read about all the grants that we sponsor.
