Greetings from Toby's Foundation,
In Loving Memory of Pamela Douglas
 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Pamela Douglas, founder of Toby's Foundation. Pam served as president of Toby's Foundation from 2004 to 2020 and on the Board of Directors until her passing. Toby's Foundation was founded after Toby, Pam's beloved blue merle Australian Shepherd, began having seizures at 10 1/2 months old. Thus began Pam's efforts to champion the fight against canine epilepsy. Like Toby, she endured a lot and never gave up!
When Toby's Foundation was founded, canine epilepsy was buried in fear and silence. Through Toby's Foundation, Pam and Toby brought it into the open and waged a public campaign to fund research, share information and support pet owners and breeders. Through her efforts, canine epilepsy research increased tremendously with Toby's Foundation sponsoring 16 research grants. Pam's legacy will endure well into the future through research and treatments for canine epilepsy.
For those who knew Pam and Toby, their lives will never be the same. With grateful hearts, we will remember Pam and her tireless and selfless dedication to improving the lives of so many. We know that Pam and Toby have crossed the rainbow bridge together.

The Rainbow BridgeAuthor Unknown There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of Rainbow Bridge is a special land. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. ..... The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing. They miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent, the nose twitches and the eager body quivers. Suddenly, this one breaks away from the group, flying over the green grass, legs carrying them faster and faster. YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, NEVER to be parted again! The happy kisses rain upon your face. Your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet...so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
