Merry Christmas, a Blessed New Year & Happy Holidays to All from Toby's Foundation!

In Memory of Toby: February 17, 2002 – November 19, 2009

ImageThe Australian Shepherd Health & Genetics Institute, Inc. in a press release on December 2, 2009 referred to Toby as “One of the most significant Aussies of the past decade.” A.S.H.G.I. also stated that “his impact has been tremendous and will continue long after his recent death.”

He was indeed a special boy and today we have an international study on canine epilepsy in the Australian Shepherd because you cared enough to help us! As we reported last month a new and more powerful SNP array recently became available and the researchers will use this to run more Aussie samples. Please continue to stand with us in the fight against canine epilepsy.

It is not too late to make a year end tax deductible donation to Toby’s Foundation. Please make a tax deductible donation today to help us stop this disease so our dogs can have happier and healthier lives. Thank you for your support!

Please see our current ad in the Australian Shepherd Journal and Aussie Times, “Connected”. Toby reminds us that we are all connected. Our dogs need us just like we need them.

If you missed our newsletter about Toby here is a partial reprint…

Image“It is with deep sadness that we share with you that Toby died on November 19, 2009. He succumbed to the disease and its complications after nearly a 7 year battle. He was brave and loved life until the end in spite of this cruel disease. He inspired us always! He remained bright and alert but it was his body that finally gave out. He died peacefully surrounded by love and that is all we could ask. He is free now! He never complained and was so happy for the littlest thing you did for him. He was the sweetest, smartest and most loving dog we have ever had the privilege of knowing and sharing our lives with. For us he was more than just our dog…he was our boy! We will miss him every day for the rest of our lives”.
